Chicago DJs, Clubbers and Promoters After a conversation with some Chicago DJs I decided to send out this friendly bulletin/blog: Most of you seem to support out of town DJs more than your own City Djs and that's a shame. Back in the day we use to be proud of our own DJs and now most of you go out of your way to support DJs that are not from Chicago and guess what... They don't support you or Chicago and they never Highlight the DJs from our city Chicago in their city! Where is the love and who are the b_tches? Support your own and allow true friends to share the space in Chicago if they are worthy! The top Highlighted DJs from out of town will never give a sh_t about you or most of your favorite Chicago DJs. Stop trying to be a Top Wanna Be. By the way, if you're a DJ from out of town that fits in this category, start giving props to your select DJs in Chicago and mix it up. Stop the hate. When did you ever remember our CROBAR DJs or SOUNDBAR DJs or Whatever DJs being Highlighted in their Clubs out of town! Did you ever think that the only reason they are not working in their town or country is because they are not wanted or needed in their own city? We are only known as "THE SECOND CITY" because you treat it like that. If you remember... Back in the day Chicago always won the Battle of the DJs (mixing) vs the rest of the country except for the DMC Battles (turntablism). That's right! Chicago never lost. And that is one reason why the Chicago "Hot Mix 5" DJ Team were untouchable, because of their unity and skills gained in the Chicago DJ world. And that is why they had worldwide respect. Unity! Furthermore, don't get me all wrong. I am not hating on DJs from other cities, many of them are my friends and sometimes they are respectfully promoting their new music cd, record or mix which I totally understand. This is just a wake up call for the Chicago Industry as I am getting tired of seeing many DJs from Chicago getting treated like crap because they live in Chicago. Last, I guess if Sanjaya from American Idol,a Playboy Model or Paris Hilton's cousin decided to DJ, most of you would say that they rock and stand in line for an hour to pay $$$ to get in the party just so you can say, "I Was There". Do they actually mix, blend or just slam beats together? Think about it. Especially when they're gettin paid thousands of dollars vs a few bucks that resident djs get for being loyal to you and the city of Chicago. Show some respect to your own and stay in the mix.
